The Request Quote wizard steps you through the quote request process by presenting a few quote-related tasks per page. When you are finished with each page, click Next. You also can return to a previous wizard page by clicking Previous, or cancel the quote creation by clicking Cancel.
Procedure
To specify general quote information
- Enter a name for the quote in the Quote Name field. The name you assign appears in the Quotes List, which you can use to locate the quote later. (Required) For example, enter ABC Company Web Translation.
- Enter an optional description of the quote in the Description field. The description also appears in the Quotes List. For example, enter Translation of the ABC Company Web Site.
- Select a client name from the Client list.
Initially the field is blank so you can select the client you want to use. If there is only one client available for selection, TransPort automatically fills in the client name for you.
- Choose a project type in the Project Type list. (Optional) You can either select a Project Type or leave it blank. However, a Project Type is required for the Analyze Files feature.
Note: A Project Type is a template for creating translation projects. When you select a Project Type, TransPort can fill in several predefined project settings automatically when you create a project based on the quote. Note that if you do not select a Project Type, the client manager can add one to the quote later.
