Setting up a default workflow

About this task

A default workflow is the workflow that is used during project creation unless overwritten by the project creator. This workflow is also used when no option to select a workflow is provided. You can set up a default workflow that will be used when globalizing a particular source asset for a particular source locale. After you specify a default workflow, you no longer need to select a workflow every time you manually create a project. A default workflow can be specified for any asset that has linkage set up for a locale.

In the Project Creation Wizard, the default workflow is used to populate the workflow selection boxes.

Procedure

  1. In WorldServer, go to Management > Business Rule Linkage > Default Workflow Table.
  2. Select the check boxes for the target locales involved and click Update Columns.
WorldServer shows or hides columns in the table based on the locales you selected.
  3. Use the table to navigate to the source folder. In the Source Folders and Assets column, click the plus signs (+) to open folders to view deeper levels of the directory structure.
  4. Select the default workflow from the list that corresponds to each asset or folder.
Unless specified individually, a workflow specified for a parent folder applies to all subordinate folders and assets.
