Stopping and Starting WorldServer

You stop and start WorldServer via the application server into which it is deployed.

About this task

Whatever your environment, you need to plan ahead before you stop WorldServer. A planned shutdown will be least disruptive for your users.

Procedure

  1. Remind all users, at least several hours in advance, that the WorldServer application and database instance will be unavailable. Give details about when and for how long.
  2. At the appointed time, verify that no users are using WorldServer.
  3. Disable all access to the production database.
  4. Stop the application server, as detailed in the appropriate sections for Tomcat.
