Template
A template is a set of settings that you can use as a basis for settings in a resource such as a translation memory. The behavior of a template with regard to the applied settings differs between SDL applications: In Studio and GroupShare, when you link a resource to a template, you cause the resource to use the settings in the template. When you change the settings in the template, the corresponding settings in all linked resources are also changed. However, if you change the settings by editing a resource, you break the link between the resource and the template. In TMS, when you use a template for a resource, the system copies the settings from the template to the resource, but there is no ongoing link between the resource and the template.
