Translation quality assessment
As a reviewer, you can assess the quality of translated content in SDL Online Editor by assigning it error types and severities from the WorldServer quality model associated to the project.
In SDL Online Editor, you can assess the quality of translated content on the Assessment tab. This tab is displayed only if:
- Your administrator has granted the users in your user type the permission to perform quality assessment.
- The project that contains the asset you are working on has a quality model configured for its corresponding project type.
As part of the same quality assessment process, in Browser Workbench, you can view only the segments that contain errors by using the All with errors segment filter. This filter shows all the segments with errors reported both in Browser Workbench (through segment errors) and in SDL Online Editor (through quality assessment). However, it has some limitations:
- In Browser Workbench, the segments that contains assessments added in SDL Online Editor do not have error icons next to them.
- To see the changes suggested through the assessments from SDL Online Editor in Browser Workbench, you need to click Show placeholders.
- If a segment contains both an error added in Browser Workbench and an assessment added in SDL Online Editor and you delete only the Browser Workbench error, the segment is no longer displayed in the results of the All with errors filter, even though it still contains the assessment added in SDL Online Editor.
Other differences between Browser Workbench and SDL Online Editor include:
- Segment errors added in Browser Workbench are displayed as comments in SDL Online Editor. Moreover, if you open an asset in Browser Workbench, then open it in SDL Online Editor in a different step, and then open it again in Browser Workbench (also in a different step), the errors you added in the first step in Browser Workbench are lost.
- If you add assessment comments that are longer than 1024 characters in SDL Online Editor, only the first 1024 characters of each comment are displayed in Browser Workbench.
