Troubleshooting SQL Server Login
If, during login, you see the error message “Login failed for <login name>. Reason: Not associated with a trusted SQL Server connection”, it may be related to the security authentication mode specified for your server.
If you plan to use the SQL Server account (sa) as the login for your WorldServer database, you must set the security authentication mode on the server to “SQL Server and Windows.” The default security authentication setting, “Windows only,” is not appropriate in this situation.
- Changing the security authentication mode
-
- Start Enterprise Manager.
- Expand Microsoft SQL Servers, and then expand SQL Server Group.
- Right-click the server for which to change the security authentication mode, and choose Properties from the context menu.
Enterprise Manager displays the SQL Server Properties dialog box.
- On the Security Tab of the SQL Server Properties dialog box, click SQL Server and Windows as the security authentication mode, and click OK.
- When Enterprise Manager prompts you to restart the SQL service, click Yes.
