User Type Permissions
This appendix describes each User Type permission, telling what user interface feature it controls and giving guidance on the type of user to which it should be assigned.
- User Type Permissions Overview
- User Type Home Tab Permissions
The basic Home Tab permissions give users access to high-level WorldServer capabilities: announcements, the Content Wizard, and project creation. - User Type Assignments Tab Permissions
Translators and reviewers pick up their assignments, and project managers monitor and manage jobs and tasks, from the Assignments Tab. - User Type Explorer Tab Permissions
The WorldServer Explorer allows you to manipulate and work with assets and folders outside of projecs and workflows. Typically, however, translating and reviewing are done as tasks in a workflow. Therefore, the User Types for Translator and Reviewer do not have the Explorer permission enabled by default. - User Type Tools Tab Permissions
Features including Translation Memory and Terminology Database use and modification, personal preferences, and reporting are available from the Tools tab. - User Type Management Tab Permissions
The Management tab contains most of the administrative configuration options of WorldServer. Typically, only administrators have these permissions. - User Types General Options Permissions
Permissions for features including the Browser Workbench and the Click and Edit feature are set from the General Options area. - User Type TransPort Permissions
Though TransPort is run as a separate interface from WorldServer, its permissions are set in WorldServer. - User type permissions on the WorldServer 11.2 user interface
Starting with WorldServer 11.1, administrators have a wider variety of permissions to choose from when creating user types. These permissions apply to the calls made to the REST API, as well as to the access users have to the new sections of the user interface (the Home page, the Projects page, and the slide-out navigation pane – all introduced in WorldServer 11.x). - User type permissions for SDL Online Editor
When you create or modify user types, you can also choose which types of users can have access to the features provided by SDL Online Editor. By default, administrators have all the permissions related to SDL Online Editor, while users belonging to custom user types do not have any such permissions.
