Using a Manual Quote Approval Process

A manual quote approval process generally starts with a quote request and usually ends when a quote is approved or abandoned, or when a project is created based on the quote. Client Managers and client users complete the quote-approval process manually and do not receive email notifications. For example:
  • A Client Manager or client user with the appropriate permissions creates a quote. The initial quote status is Requested.
  • On the WorldServer side, Client Managers can view, edit, and change the status of the quote on an ongoing basis from the Quotes page. The quote statuses are:
    • Requested
    • Pending Approval
    • Approved
    • Abandoned
  • On the TransPort side, Client users with the appropriate permissions can view and edit the quote from the Quotes page. Based on the current status, client users can:

    Abandon or Save and Request Update

    To manually:
    • Place the project on hold or abandon the project entirely
    • Revise the quote and request an update
    Pending Approval

    Approve , Abandon , or Save and Request Update

    To manually:
    • Approve the quote
    • Place the project on hold or abandon the project entirely
    • Revise the quote and request an update

    Save and Request Update resets the status to Requested.

    Approved

    Once a quote is approved, the status is ready-only and cannot be changed.

    Create a project based on the approved quote.
    Abandoned

    Save and Request Update

    To revise the quote and request an update.

    Save and Request Update resets the status to Requested.
