Moving Tasks between Projects
You can move particular tasks to an existing or new project. For example, you might want to move a task if you find an asset that does not belong in a particular project. You can move the asset to the right project for tracking purposes. Or you might want to single out an important asset in its own project to track it separately as a different project.
To add a task to an existing project, the project must have the same locale, and you must have permission to add tasks to the project. You can also choose to create a new project with the selected tasks. When you create a new project, the tasks will enter the project at the same workflow step they were at when you moved them, because the workflow is designated at the task level.
- In the Task List, select the task or tasks, and then .
- Choose whether to add the task or tasks to an existing project or to a new project.
- If you choose to add them to an existing project, a dialog box appears with a list of available projects from which to select.
- If you choose to add them to a new project, a dialog box appears in which you specify the Project, a Project Description, and a Workgroup.
