Adding, Viewing and Modifying Rules

Management > Business Rule Linkage > Rules

To add a rule

Procedure

  1. From the Management > Business Rule Linkage > Rules page, click Add. WorldServer opens the Management > Business Rule Linkage > Rules > Rule: New page and launches the Rules editor.
  2. When prompted, specify a name for the rule and click OK.
  3. Apply properties to the rule as appropriate.
  4. Select how the rule should apply to folders and assets.
  5. Click Next.
  6. Choose which conditions the rule should check.
  7. Choose what the rule should do under the specified conditions.
  8. Optionally, choose exceptions to the rule.
  9. Choose whether the rule should execute on a recurrence or manually only.
    The rule is delineated in the bottom half of the rule creator. Each rule parameter is blue, green, or red.
    • A blue parameter link indicates that you need to specify the parameter. Click the link and specify the parameter as appropriate.
    • A green parameter link indicates that there is an acceptable parameter specified. You can modify the parameter as needed by clicking the link and specifying a new value.
    • A red parameter link indicates that there is an invalid parameter specified. You need to specify a new, acceptable parameter. You will be unable to execute a rule with an invalid parameter.
  10. Click Save.

To view or modify a rule

Procedure

  1. From the Management > Business Rule Linkage > Rules page, click the name of the rule to view or modify. WorldServer opens the Management > Business Rule Linkage > Rules > Rule: <Name> page.
  2. Modify the rule properties or specific rule values as needed.
  3. Click Save.

Results

You can now return to the updated Management > Business Rule Linkage > Rules page.
