Changing Project Attributes

You can easily change the Attributes of one or more Projects.

Procedure

  1. Go to the Projects page. To access the Projects page, you can either go to Home > Overview and then click the number of projects on the top right of the screen, or you can go to Home > Projects on the slide-out navigation pane.
  2. In the Projects section, select one or multiple active Projects and then, on the ribbon, click Change Attributes.
The Change Project Attributes wizard screen is displayed. The Attributes available to you at this stage for configuration are the same ones configured at the Project creation stage. For more information, see Creating a Project
  3. In the System Attributes screen, select the desired system Attribute(s) that you want to change. If you are modifying the Attributes of a single Project, the Project's Attributes are displayed as such in the Change Project Attributes wizard screens. If you are modifying the Attributes of two or more Projects, you can:
    • Select the checkbox(es) next to the Attribute(es) you want to modify and then proceed to perform the desired change(s).
    • Display all the available Project Attributes by clicking the Select All checkbox.
  4. In the Custom Attributes screen, repeat the procedure described earlier in this topic.
  5. The Summary screen presents the details of your Project Attributes in a single screen. At this point, you can go back to any stage to make any final changes, if needed.
  6. Click Finish.

Example

Note the following:

  • For Due Date, enter the date and time in the format appropriate to your Regional Settings or use the date picker. When the due date passes, and the Project is not complete, the due date is displayed as red text in the Project list (if the view is configured to display it).
  • You can change the cost model for the Project only to a cost model based on the same scoping configuration of the initial cost model. If the Project was created without assigning a cost model, only cost models based on the default scoping configuration are available.
  • The modified Attributes appear in the Project list, if the view is configured to show them.
  • If you want to change particular attributes across multiple Projects, leaving all others unchanged, select the Projects you want to change Attributes for, and click Change Attributes. With multiple Projects selected, you are taken to a different dialog than the dialog for one Project.
  • If the custom attribute values for all Locales in a Project are not identical, TransPort users will see Set per locale instead of the custom Attribute name in the Project Listing page (and Projects page if view only). you open the Edit Project page, only the custom Attribute set for the first Locale displays. Therefore, if you change a custom Attribute for one Locale in a Project that includes multiple Locales, be aware that TransPort users will not see the change in that Locale.
