You can choose not to extract the content of cells formatted with a certain color by selecting the Skip cells formatted with selected color check box, and then selecting the color.
You can also choose not to extract the content of certain columns by selecting the Skip selected columns check box. Then, click Add Column, type the name of the column that you want to exclude from translation and click OK.
Common page

- Headers and footers
- Include headers and footers for translation or skip them.
- Hidden content (columns, rows, columns, sheets)

- Skip character spacing and kerning
-
Include advanced font formatting such as character spacing and kerning or skip it.
- Extract optional hyphens
- The placement of discretionary hyphens depends on the structure and pronunciation of the words in the source language, so you should usually choose to remove rather than extract them.
QuickInsert Settings page
- QuickInsert
-
Use the QuickInsert panel to add or edit QuickInsert items for this file type. QuickInsert items give the translator a way to insert content from the editor's QuickInsert toolbar.
The list of QuickInsert items does not include the standard (default) QuickInsert items, so initially it is an empty list.
- Name
- The name of the QuickInsert button.
- Description
- A tooltip for the QuickInsert button.
- Standalone text
- For example, to use QuickInsert to insert a character.
- Text pair
- For example, to use QuickInsert to insert a pair of characters (such as French quotation marks).
Font mapping page
- Font mapping
-
Use the Font mapping settings to specify the fonts that WorldServer uses in the target document to replace the fonts used in the source document.
For example, if the target language is Chinese (Taiwan), you might want to specify that the PMingLiu font is used for all text in the target document, regardless of the fonts used in the source document. If so, map all source language fonts to PMingLiu for Chinese (Taiwan).
By default, most target languages in this dialog box have only one font and for each language all source fonts are mapped to one font.
Embedded Content page
- Document structure information
- Embedded content processing for Excel file types only works when you select Cell as the document structure information. This is selected by default, so you do not need to add any other type of structure information.
- Tag definitions rules
-
Add tag definition rules to specify how to treat the embedded content defined under Document structure information. Click Add, and then, in the Add/Edit Embedded Content Rule dialog box, specify the following:
Field Description Tag Type - Placeholder – converts embedded content into standalone (placeholder) tags.
- Tag Pair – identifies tag pairs (a start tag and an end tag) in the embedded content.
Start Tag A regular expression that identifies embedded content and converts each occurrence of such content into a placeholder tag. For example, to convert all HTML <br>(line break) tags into placeholder tags, type <br.*?>Ignore case Select this check box if you do not want the letter case of your defined tags to be taken into consideration when the embedded content is identified. Translate Not translatable means that the content between the tag pairs is displayed to the translator as locked content. Text within tag pairs can be translatable or non translatable. Placeholder tags are not translatable. Formatting If available, click Edit to modify the way in which the embedded content is displayed.
