Custom Automated tasks
Custom Automated tasks cannot be purchased off the shelf from RWS, but you can contact your Account representative and order a custom Automated task.
How does it work?
- RWS builds the custom Automated task and delivers it to you in Trados Enterprise as an add-on.
- You install the add-on to activate the custom Automated task.
- When you start creating custom workflow templates, the custom Automated task is available for selection and you can place it in your task sequence appropriately.
- After you create a workflow based on the custom workflow template which includes custom Automated tasks, you can select Configure and enter or adjust the available configuration details. The custom Automated tasks which apply to target files can be configured differently per target language.

Here are examples of Automated tasks that would require customization:
- Notifications/ emails with custom content or triggered by a non-standard event
- Cancelling tasks based on a specific business logic
- Integration with 3rd-party systems
- Workflow branching based on checking a condition
- File delivery to non-native platforms
- Source or target file pre-processing or post-processing
