Personas and roles
To ensure a smooth and consistent user experience, the Trados Enterprise user interface has been designed based on multiple personas, each of them performing specific activities on different pages.
These personas are:
- Administrators
- Have full access to the Trados Enterprise platform.
- Project managers
- Have access to Trados Enterprise.
- Have full control over user creation, customer setup, project setup, linguistic resources, project creation, project planning and task assignment, project monitoring and reporting.
- Linguists (translators or reviewers)
- Have access to Trados Enterprise.
- Can accept/reject/send back to the pool any translation or review task assigned to them.
- Can translate or review content in Trados Studio or in Trados Online Editor.
- Can download and upload translation packages (and work on them offline).
- Customer requesters
- Have access to Trados Customer Portal.
- Can submit localization requests.
- Can approve quotes.
- Can monitor localization progress.
- Can download completed translations. Can have 2 roles: Customer Requester and Customer Requester Restricted. Users who have the Customer Requester role can see their peers' projects in Trados Customer Portal, while users who have the Customer Requester Restricted role cannot see their peers' projects in Trados Customer Portal.
- Customer reviewers
- Have access to Trados Customer Portal.
- Can review content in SDL Trados Online Editor.
- Terminologists
- Have access to Trados Enterprise.
- Can manage termbases and termbase templates.
- Vendors
- Have access to Trados Enterprise.
- Can review quotes.
- Can download and upload translation packages (and work on them offline).
- Can translate or review content in Trados Studio or in Trados Online Editor.
- Engineers
- Have access to Trados Enterprise.
- Can perform the preliminary tasks required to create projects.
- Can extract content from non-localizable file formats.
- Can work on DTP tasks.
All localization personas:
- Access the tasks assigned to them straight from their personal inbox.
- Have full control over their assignments, in that they can accept, reject or return tasks back to the common task pool.
- Have access to the resources required to perform the tasks assigned to them.
- Can perform actions specific to their role and to the groups to which they belong.
