Quote templates

Quote templates are project resources which dictate how the downloaded quote looks like, in terms of how it displays the quote fields, the branding or other relevant information.

Trados Enterprise has a default quote template which works behind scenes to generate the structure and information in quotes. However, if you want your quote to be customized in terms of branding, layout or the information it displays, you must configure a quote template of your own and then select it when you create a project template or a project.

In other words, use a quote template if you want to download the quote in a custom format (of your choice) instead of the default format provisioned automatically in the system.

Quote templates can apply to both customer quotes, and vendor quotes.

To generate a quote based on a quote template:
  1. Familiarize yourselves with smart markers. Smart markers are placeholders for various quote information like translation costs, additional costs, dates and times, project languages.
  2. Create an *.xlsx sheet.
    • Add customized text and branding.
    • Copy and paste the smart markers corresponding to the quote information you need.
    • (Optional) Apply simple or advanced formulas on the smart markers you added.
  3. Create a quote template by uploading the *.xlsx file.
  4. Select the quote template when creating project templates and projects.
  5. Download the custom quote from any project Costs tab or from the Customer Quote Review task.
