Access Rights page
Set up password protection for a file-based translation memory (TM) in the Access Rights page of the Translation Memory Settings dialog. If you decide to password protect a TM, you have to define passwords for all of the available access levels and everyone who tries to open the TM will be asked to provide a password (including the administrator).
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
Administrator password | An administrator has complete access rights over the TM and its contents in all views. |
Maintenance password | A maintenance user can open the TM in any view. Users can view, edit and delete translation units (TUs), and they can use the batch edit and delete tools to maintain TUs. However, they cannot perform imports and exports. |
Translator password | A translator can open the TM in the Editor view and they can edit and delete individual TUs. They can also add new TUs to the TM. A translator cannot open the TM for maintenance in the Translation Memories view. However, a translator can view the TM settings. |
Guest password | A user with guest access can open the TM in the Editor view and work with the TM contents. They cannot add, edit or delete TUs. A guest cannot open the TM for maintenance in the Translation Memories view. However, a guest can view the language resource settings for the TM. |
