Adding AutoText entries

An AutoText entry is a stretch of text that you can enter yourself, so that you can use it in AutoSuggest. AutoText entries are based on the target language. An example would be a standard copyright text or a disclaimer. AutoText entries must be at least five character long in order to be offered as suggestions in AutoSuggest.

Before you begin

In order to use the AutoText as a source for AutoSuggest, you must first select the AutoText option to enable AutoSuggest.

Procedure

  1. Go to File > Options.
  2. In the navigation tree, select AutoSuggest > AutoText.
  3. Select the language into which you want to enter the AutoText entry from the Target Language drop-down list. This is the target language you are translating into.
  4. Type your AutoText entry in the AutoText entries box.
  5. Select Add.
  6. Select OK to save the settings and to close the Options dialog.

Results

The added entry will now be in the list of suggestions that is displayed when you type the beginning of a term or phrase with the same initial characters in the Editor window.
