Adding entries to the AutoCorrect replacement list

The AutoCorrect replacement list can be customized by adding new entries.

About this task

There are several use cases where the AutoCorrect feature can improve typing productivity:
  • AutoCorrect replaces typos and misspelled words with the correct form from a default or a custom list of terms.
  • AutoCorrect shortcuts can be set for your own convenience in the replacement list . For example, you can set to replace typing "tm" with "translation memory".
  • AutoCorrect uasage makes the insertion of symbols faster. For example, type (c) to insert ©.

Procedure

  1. Go to File > Options.
  2. In the Options dialog, in the navigation tree, select Editor > AutoCorrect.
  3. In the Replace box, type the word, phrase or shortcut you want AutoCorrect to replace.
  4. In the With box, type the correct word, the phrase or symbol you want AutoCorrect to replace with.
  5. Select Add.
    You can also add a new entry by clicking on an existing entry in the list and changing the text in the Replace box.
