To connect to a server, you must first add the server to Trados Studio. Once you add the server and you successfully connect to it, the server connection details you define are stored in the Servers dialog, where they are managed.
Before you begin
You will need the following information from your system administrator:
- The address of the server computer
- Your username and password for the server
Procedure
- Go to .
- In the Servers dialog, select Add.
- Go through the options in the Add GroupShare Server wizard:
- Enter the address of the server you want to connect to in the Server Address box.
- Choose a Port. Port 80 is the default port value, which enables connection via HTTP. However, if you want to connect via HTTPS, select This server requires a secure connection (SSL), and the port value automatically switches to 443.
- Select Next and choose an authentication method. Depending on the authentication method that is enabled on the server, you can choose between:
- GroupShare Authentication and enter your credentials.
- Windows Authentication if you want to authenticate via Active Directory, automatically, without providing any user name or password. If you want to authenticate as a different Windows user, select Authenticate with a different user and enter your credentials.
- SSO Provider (Okta, Auth0, JWT), then enter your credentials and select Sign in.
Remember: You enable the possibility of connecting with Windows or with the SSO provider from within Trados GroupShare.
- Select Finish.
The server status is displayed in the Servers dialog, indicating whether the server is available to connect to.
