Batch settings descriptions

Use the Batch Processing settings to specify what settings are used when running a batch process.

These settings appear in multiple dialog boxes in Trados Studio.

SettingsDescription

Analyze Files

These settings examine project files and identify frequently occurring segments and unknown segments. The frequently occurring segments and unknown segments can be exported to *.xliff files for translation ahead of the project files. The translated segments are then added to the translation memory (TM) and the translations are then available to all translators working on the project.

The frequently occurring segment *.xliff files and the unknown segment *.xliff files are placed in the project Exports folder. Separate *.xliff files are produced for each language pair.

Pre-translate Files

The Pre-translate Files settings control what happens when TMs are applied to *.xliff files when a project is created.

Translation Memory Updates

These settings identify which translations are added to the TM and whether they are new TUs or replace existing TUs.

Export Files

These settings are used when you export project files. When you export a file, you create a translated output file from a translated *.xliff. You can export project files to any of the supported file formats.

Project Translation Memories

These settings are used when project TMs are created.

Fuzzy Bands

These settings define the fuzzy matching thresholds that are applied during translation analysis.

Pseudo-translate Files

These settings are used when you run the Pseudo-translate batch task. This enables you to simulate how a translated file will look after translation and how much extra engineering work will be required before actual translation is done.

Verify Files

These are settings used when you run the Verify Files batch task.
