Creating termbase filters

You can create termbase filters to identify terms or term information (metadata) faster.

Procedure

  1. In Trados Studio, select Sign in in the top-right corner to connect to your cloud account.
  2. Log in with your RWS ID credentials. Trados Studio shows all the cloud accounts that you are a member of.
  3. Select your cloud account name from the drop-down menu, and then select RWS Account at the bottom of the window. This opens your cloud account in your default browser where you are prompted to log in.
  4. In the cloud environment, go to the Terminology view or to the Projects > Resources > Termbases.
  5. Click inside a termbase row to open the termbase.
  6. Expand the Filters menu (filter menu).
  7. Select filter sign.
  8. Select add filter and select the main criterion by which you filter the data: Entry, Language, Term, Source, Target, All languages.
  9. Configure the filter by choosing or entering an option in the Type, Operator, and Value boxes.
    1. Under Type, you can pick any custom field defined at the level of the filtering criterion you selected earlier. For example, if you selected Entry, you can pick any entry-level custom field. In addition to custom fields, you can also filter entries according to the following default fields:
      • Term: Available only if you selected one of the following filtering criteria: Term, Source, Target, or All languages.
      • Status (System): Available only if you selected the Term criterion.
      • Created At (System): Available for all filtering criteria.
      • Created By (System): Available for all filtering criteria.
      • Last Modified At (System): Available for all filtering criteria.
      • Last Modified By (System): Available for all filtering criteria.
    2. Under Operator, you can pick one of the following values, depending on the type of the field you selected earlier:
      • is equal to: For all types of custom fields except for Picklist and for the Term, Created At (System), and Last Modified At (System) default fields.
      • is not equal to: For all types of custom fields except for Picklist and for the Term, Created At (System), and Last Modified At (System) default fields.
      • greater than: For Date/Time and Number custom fields and for the Created At (System) and Last Modified At (System) default fields.
      • greater than or equal to: For Date/Time and Number custom fields and for the Created At (System) and Last Modified At (System) default fields.
      • less than: For Date/Time and Number custom fields and for the Created At (System) and Last Modified At (System) default fields.
      • less than or equal to: For Date/Time and Number custom fields and for the Created At (System) and Last Modified At (System) default fields.
      • is: For Picklist custom fields and for the Status (System), Created By (System), and Modified By (System) default fields.
      • starts with: For Text custom fields and for the Term default field.
      • ends with: For Text custom fields and for the Term default field.
      • contains: For Text custom fields and for the Term default field.
      • exists: For all types of custom fields and for all the default fields.
      • empty: For all types of custom fields and for all the default fields.
    3. Under Value, do one of the following:
      • For Text and Number custom fields and for the Term default field, enter a value in the box.
      • For Date/Time custom fields and for the Created At (System) and Last Modified At (System) default fields, select a date from the calendar and adjust the time if necessary.
      • For Boolean custom fields, select TRUE or FALSE.
      • For Picklist custom fields and for the Status (System) default field, select one of the values available in the list.
      • For the Created By (System) and Last Modified By (System) default fields, select one of the users available in the list or enter their names and use commas to separate them.
