Editing connection settings for MT providers

It is recommended that you edit the connection settings for an MT provider when its details change or when its credentials originate from a third-party.

About this task

Note that this setting is typically specified at All Language Pairs level. Specify this setting at an individual language pair level only as an exception when you want to have different MT selections or a different MT order.

Edit the connection settings for an MT provider when:

  • You open a package which contains connection details for a custom MT provider, and you need to enter your user name or password to enable the service.
  • You notice that the provider (server) address and its details changed.

Procedure

  1. Decide whether you want to edit the MT provider:
    • For all future projects - Go to File > Options > Language Pairs > All Language Pairs/ [source language - target language] pair.
    • For the current project - Go to the Projects view, select a project. On the Home tab, select Project Settings, and then in the Project Settings dialog, select Language Pairs > All Language Pairs / [source language - target language] pair.
The Language Pairs settings are displayed on the right. Any language pairs for which default translation memory selections have been added, are displayed in the Language Pairs box.
  2. Go to All Language Pairs / [source language - target language] > Translation Memory and Automated Translation.
  3. Select the MT provider that you want to edit, and then select Settings.
  4. The MT provider options page wizard is displayed. Edit the settings on the wizard pages as needed.
  5. Select Save.
