Editing termbase entries

If you have editing permissions, you can make changes to the term itself or to its fields.

Procedure

  1. In Trados Studio, select Sign in in the top-right corner to connect to your cloud account.
  2. Log in with your RWS ID credentials. Trados Studio shows all the cloud accounts that you are a member of.
  3. Select your cloud account name from the drop-down menu, and then select RWS Account at the bottom of the window. This opens your cloud account in your default browser where you are prompted to log in.
  4. In the cloud environment, go to the Terminology view or to the Projects > Resources > Termbases.
  5. Click inside a termbase row to open the termbase.
  6. Do one of the following:
    • If you can find the term you want to edit in the left-side pane, select it.
    • If you cannot find the term you want to edit in the left-side pane, search for it, and then select it.
  7. In the right-side pane, edit the term and its fields. If you edit a term and it becomes identical with an existing one, a dialog prompts you to choose how you want the duplicate to be handled:
    • To add the duplicate as a homonym, select Create duplicate entry, and then Finish.
    • To merge the duplicate with an existing entry, select Merge with existing entry, and then select the entry that you want to merge it with. On the preview screen, consult the details of the merged entry and remove any attributes or attribute values that you do not want to be a part of the merged entry. When finished, select Finish.
