Exporting files for review in native format

Reviewers can check the translated file in a bilingual, *.sdlxliff format, but also in its native format. Use the Batch Processing > Export Files command to specify the export file format and save the exported file into a folder separate from the project.

About this task

The Export Files batch task can be run at any point during the project life cycle.

Procedure

  1. Go to the Projects view and select the project whose file(s) you want tot export in native format.
  2. Go to the Files view and select the file you want to export in its native format.
  3. Go to the Home tab, and in the File Actions group, select Batch Tasks > Export Files.
  4. On the Batch Tasks page of the Batch Processing wizard, select Next.
  5. On the Files page, consult the files which will be processed.
  6. Select Next.
  7. On the Settings page:
    1. Select Browse to specify the location where the exported files will be saved. The default location path is: C:\Documents and Settings\[User name]\My Documents\Export Files\[Target Language Code].
    2. Select which format you want to export the file to. For this task, select Target version.
    • Target version - Exports the file in the format in which it was originally created.
    • Latest bilingual version - Exports the file as a bilingual *.sdlxliff file.
    • Current version - Exports the file in the current format that the file is in at this point in the project.
  8. Select Close.
