Generating verification results without batch tasks

Verification can be performed automatically on a segment when you confirm a translation in the Editor view. This operation is performed without batch tasks.

About this task

You can also verify all translations in the active file at the same time. If there is an error in the translation, one of the following icons is displayed in the segment status column and details of the error are displayed in the Messages window.

Procedure

  1. Go to the Editor view.
  2. On the Review tab, in the Quality Assurance group, either select Verify or press F8. The active file is checked using the enabled verifiers. When the verification is complete, any errors found in the file are automatically displayed in the Messages window.
  3. To fix any errors, you can do one of the following:
    • Select any message in the Messages window to jump to the segment with the error.
    • Double-click a message in the Messages window to display the Verification Message Details dialog where you can review and fix errors.
The boxes displayed and options available in this dialog change depending on the verifier which reported the error.
  4. In the Verification Message Details dialog, perform one of the following actions:
    • To ignore the message once, select Ignore.
    • To ignore all messages of the same type, select Ignore All. For example, if you ignore messages of the type Segment has not been translated, when you run verification again, these messages will no longer be reported.
    • To correct the error in your file with the suggested text from the Suggestions box, select Change. You can select what text is displayed in the Target Segment Content box from the Suggestions box. You can manually type the content into the Target Segment Content box.
  5. When finished reviewing your messages, select Close.
