Inserting tags using QuickPlace
You can select tags from the tag list available in the QuickPlace dialog. The tag list contains all tags that appear in the source segment.
About this task
The opening and closing tags which make up tag pairs are listed separately. This means that, as you are typing, you can insert the opening tag at the point where you want text formatting to begin and the closing tag at the point where you want the formatting to end.
Placeholder tags also appear in the dialog box and are selected in the same way as formatting tags.
Procedure
- Go to the Projects view and select the project you want to work on.
- Go to the Files view and double-click the file you want to work on.
- In the Editor window, when the cursor is at the point where you want to insert a tag, right-click and select QuickPlace from the shortcut menu. A list of tags is displayed in the QuickPlace dialog.
- The first tag is selected automatically.
- If this is the required tag, select OK to insert the tag into the target segment. If the tag is one of a pair, a ghost tag is also inserted.
- If this is not the tag you want to insert, select different tags until the correct one is selected, and then select OK to insert the tag into the target segment.
- Continue typing. The selected tag formatting is applied to the text.
- When you want the formatting to stop being applied, right-click and, on the context menu, select QuickPlace.
- In the QuickPlace dialog, select the closing tag.
- Select OK to insert it into the file.
