Language pair settings

Language pairs indicate the source and target languages of your translation. You can specify language pair settings in various locations, for the current project you work on or for all future projects.

Options dialog

Default settings are located in the Options dialog. These default settings are used when you create a project or start a new translation using the Translate Single Document command.

To display this dialog, select File > Options. To see the available settings, select Language Pairs from the navigation tree on the left.

Project Settings dialog

Settings for a language pair in the active project and active document are located in the Project Settings dialog.

Go to the Home tab and select Project Settings. To see the available settings, select Language Pairs from the navigation tree on the left.

New Project wizard

Settings for a language pair in a project you are in the process of creating are defined in the New Project wizard on the Translation Memory and Automated Translation page, the Termbases page and the Batch Processing Settings page.

After a project is created you can modify these settings in the Project Settings dialog.

Project Template Settings dialog

Settings for a language pair in a project template can be used when you create a new project. These are defined in the Project Template Settings dialog. You may want to create a project template if you have several customers that require different settings.

To display this dialog:

  • Select a project in the Projects view, go to the Home tab and select Create Project Template in the Tasks group. In the Save Project Template dialog, enter a project template name and select Save.
  • Select Edit in the Project Templates dialog.

To see the available settings, select Language Pairs from the navigation tree on the left.

Batch Processing wizard

Language pair settings are also used and can be modified when you perform any batch tasks on your project files on the Settings page of the Batch Processing wizard. To see the available settings, select Language Pairs from the navigation tree on this page.
