Locking segments
You can lock segments to prevent their content from being updated accidentally. If needed, you can unlock segments to edit them and then lock them again later.
About this task
Limitation: you cannot lock segments that contain translation quality assessment (TQA) issues.
Procedure
- Go to the Projects view and select the project you want to work on.
- Go to the Files view and double-click the file you want to work on.
- In the Editor window, select the row or rows to lock:
- To select an individual row, click in the segment numbers column or the target segment column.
- To select multiple rows, hold down the Ctrl key and click on the segment number column to select rows, or to select multiple consecutive segments, click on the first one on your selection and, while holding down the Shift key, click on the last one on your selection.
- Lock the segments:
- If you have an individual row selected, go to the Advanced tab and select Lock Segment.
- If you have multiple rows selected, go to the Advanced tab and select Lock Segments from the ribbon.
QA-checking locked content
By default, locked segments are ignored during QA checks. If you need to verify text inside locked segments, go to your Project Settings > Verification > QA Checker > Segments to exclude and disable the option Exclude locked segments.
Locked selections of a segment are always ignored during QA checks.
