A source text containing spelling mistakes or typos can impact the way translated segments are retrieved from translation memories (TMs). To ensure the best match between your source text and the already translated segments in a TM, you can correct the inaccuracies in the source segments of an .SDLXLIFF file, in Trados Studio.
Before you begin
Enable source segment editing in the Project Settings.
Procedure
- Go to the Projects view and select the project you want to work on.
- Go to the Files view and double-click the file you want to work on.
- In the Editor view, place your cursor in the source segment you want to edit.
- Right-click the source segment and either select Edit Source or press Alt+F2. The segment is surrounded by a orange box to indicate that you can edit the segment.
- Make your changes to the source.
- When finished, press Alt+F2 to stop editing or simply place your cursor in another location.
