Managing projects

Project management entails all the operations that can be performed on projects.

Project operations

Once projects are created, you can:
  • View project details
  • Edit project settings
  • Work with project files
  • Work with project templates
  • Follow and mark project progress
  • Integrate your project in a package workflow
  • Integrate your project in an Trados GroupShare workflow

Project workflows

Projects can be part of a package workflow if you want to split the work among your team members. In this case, as Project Manager, you can split the work, form project packages to send, receive return packages and monitor the entire distribution chain. A package is used to assign work to another team member. A package contains all of the files that need to be sent to a project team member in order for them to start working on the project or it can contain work that has been completed. Once the package is created, you send it by e-mail to the team member who will be working on the project files. This eliminates the need to send multiple files or multiple e-mails and enables all project information to be sent with project files in a coherent structure.

Projects can be part of an Trados GroupShare workflow. The project is published and stored on the Trados GroupShare server. Team members can then connect to the server, and access the work that needs to be completed.
