Migrating local termbases to cloud

You can migrate your local Termbases to cloud and leverage them when translating in the browser or use them in your Translation Engines.

Before you begin

To be able to successfully save a Termbase to cloud, the file size must not exceed 100 MB.

Make sure you are logged into your cloud account in Trados Studio.

To migrate your local termbases to cloud:

Procedure

  1. Go to the Translation Memories view, click Migrate to Cloud > Migrate Local Termbases to Cloud on the ribbon. This displays the conversion wizard.
  2. On the first page of the wizard, first add your desired local termbases to the list. You can either:
    • Click Add File-based Termbases to browse your local storage and choose a termbase file.
    • Click Add File-based Termbases from Folder and select a folder containing multiple termbase files. This will add all of them to the conversion list
    • Drag-and-drop your termbase files to the list.
    • Remove any of the added termbases by selecting them and clicking Remove Selected Files.
  3. Click Next to go to the second page of the wizard. On this page you can:
    • Set the cloud name of each individual termbase by clicking on the icon next to their name.
    • Set the location in your cloud account where the file will be migrated to, of each individual termbase from the Location dropdown. You can also click +New Customer to go to your cloud account and configure a new location.
    • Set a Description , Copyright and check the Field Definitions for each individual termbase by clicking on the icon.
  4. Click Finish to complete the wizard.
