Project settings in Trados GroupShare projects

Some of the project settings of Trados GroupShare projects can be uploaded to the Project Server when you make local changes on them, while others cannot.

Edit settings stored locally

The following settings are stored locally on your computer and are not uploaded to the Trados GroupShare Project Server for sharing when you make changes to them on your computer.
  • References to file-based TM references.
  • References to file-based termbases.
  • References to Local AutoSuggest dictionaries.
  • The Enabled option which specifies if selected local TMs and server-based TMs are available during translation and batch tasks.
  • The Enabled option which specifies if selected local termbases and server-based termbases are available during translation and batch tasks.

Edit Server settings

All other settings than the ones mentioned above are stored on the Project Server. If you have Edit Project permissions ( the Project Manager, Power User and Administrator roles have this permission enabled by default) any changes that you make to these settings on your computer automatically update the Trados GroupShare server. If you do not have Edit Project permissions, you will only have access to settings that you can change locally. If you are not connected to the Project Server, you will only have access to change local settings.

Only SDL Trados GroupShare 2015 and higher can handle Translation Quality Assessment (TQA) related project settings.
