Running batch tasks: Export for Bilingual Review

For reviewers who do not have Trados Studio installed, you can export the *.sdlxliff file to a bilingual *.docx format which can be opened in Microsoft Word. The reviewed file can then be imported back into Trados Studio, using the Update from Bilingual Review task.

Procedure

  1. Decide whether you want to run the batch task sequence on an entire project or some project files:
    • To run batch task sequences on an entire project, go to the Projects view and select the project you want to run batch task sequences on.
    • To run batch task sequences on a file or a selection of files, go to the Projects view, select a project, and then go to the Files view and select the file or files you want to run batch task sequences on.
  2. On the Home tab, select Batch Tasks.
  3. Select Export for Bilingual Review.
  4. On the Batch Tasks page, consult the task/task sequence description. If you want to run another task, select it from the Task Sequence drop-down list.
  5. Select Next.
  6. On the Files page, all files for the active project are listed. Select the files on which you want the batch task to be run.
  7. Select Next.
  8. On the Settings page:
    1. In the Location box on the right, modify where you want the exported files to be located. By default, they are exported to an External Review folder within the project folder structure. This folder contains separate subfolders for each target language
    2. Select how the translated content will appear in the exported file:
      • In the Layout type box, select side-by-side to view your source and target segments side-by-side or select top-down to view source segments above their corresponding target segments
      • In the Segment Match Highlighting Colors section, modify the colors used to indicate the different type of matches from the translation memory (TM).
  9. Select Finish.
