Running Trados Studio from the command line

You may find it useful to run Trados Studio from the command line, for example to start the program with a specified project opened.

About this task

For the purpose of this topic, let's assume Trados Studio is installed in %programfiles(x86)%\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\Studio16.

Procedure

  1. Press Windowslogokey + R.
  2. Do one of the following:
    • Run Trados Studio - In the Run dialog, type: %programfiles(x86)%\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\Studio16\SDLTradosStudio.exe.
    • Display the command line usage for SDLTradosStudio.exe - In the Run dialog, type: %programfiles(x86)%\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\Studio16\SDLTradosStudio.exe /help. All the command line arguments for SDLTradosStudio.exe are displayed. Command line arguments are not case sensitive.
    • Run Trados Studio and open a file (for example, %Documents and Settings%\User\My Documents\example.docx) - In the Run dialog, type: %programfiles(x86)%\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\Studio16/opendocument "%Documents and Settings%\User\My Documents\example.docx".
