| Option | Description |
|---|---|
Paragraph based segmentation Sentence based segmentation | Select the segmentation method to be used on source files in this language. If you intend to populate the translation memory (TM) by importing translation units (TUs), the rule should match the rule used to create the imported TUs. |
Rules | This box lists the rules used to create sentence-long segments. For example, the Full stop rule is one rule used to identify where a sentence ends. All of the rules listed here are applied to source text to identify where sentence breaks occur. If you chose Paragraph based segmentation, the Rules box and buttons are disabled. You cannot create rules to identify the end of a paragraph. |
Add | Select this option to add a new rule to identify the end of a segment. When you select this button the Add Segmentation Rule dialog is displayed. |
Edit | Select a rule and select this option to edit the rule. When you select this option, the Edit Segmentation Rule dialog is displayed. |
Remove | Select a rule and select this option to remove the rule from the list. |
Reset to Defaults | Select this to reset the list to the default settings for the language. Any new rules you have added and any changes you made to default rules will disappear. |
