Single-File translation workflow for a Regulated Industry
When you have to translate only one file, you can do so without creating an entire project. This allows you to get started with your translation faster.
Single-File translation workflow
Assume you are a translator. You receive an assignment to localize a MS Word *.docx file that contains information about the use of a particular medication. A previous version of this file was translated last year. The MS Word *.docx file contains tracked changes to indicate what updates need to be made for the current translation.
You have been provided with the TM that contains the translations that were used the previous year.
Use the workflow for Single-File translation in a Regulated Industry to translate the file and send it for review.
Why use this workflow?
If you are translating a single file, you can use the Translate Sigle Document command to open the file in Trados Studio. Starting a translation using this method bypasses the selections you have to make when you create a project using the New Project wizard.
Using this method allows you to leverage translations from previous projects by working interactively with the TM to translate the document.
This workflow also indicates what settings you need to specify and the practices that you need to follow to ensure that changes to translations are tightly controlled.
