Specifying the tag display mode

You can determine the way tags are displayed in the Editor window, of the Editor view.

Procedure

  1. Go to the Projects view and select the project you want to work on.
  2. Go to the Files view and double-click the file you want to work on.
  3. Go to View tab > Options group and select a Tag Display Mode.
  4. Select:
    • No Tag Text to display tags without any text on them.
    • Partial Tag Text to display tags with partial text on them. Place the cursor over a tag to display the full tag content in a tooltip.
    • Full Tag Text to display tag text in full. This option may be useful when interpreting generic tags, such as those used to represent formatting instructions in PowerPoint, Excel and converted FrameMaker or Interleaf documents.
    • Tag ID to display the tag ID rather than tag text. Tag ID numbers are unique identifiers which are automatically assigned to each tag pair and placeholder tag in the document. This option also displays (at the top of Editor window) the name of the filter that was used when opening this file.
