Step 2 - Translating files from a WorldServer package in a Regulated Industry
The translator receives the files for translation by opening a WorldServer project package sent by the Project Manager.
Procedure
- Open the WorldServer package and specify settings for translation:
- Go to the Projects view, and, on the Home tab, select Open Package and go through the wizard steps.
- When the wizard reaches the last stage, the project is opened in Trados Studio. The file-based and server-based translation memories (TMs) assigned to the package (for packages created in WorldServer 10.3 and higher), as well as the assigned termbase (TB), are automatically added to the list of translation resources to use for the project. The File Attributes, Project Attributes, QA Checker Profile configurations and TM Penalties (for packages created in WorldServer 10.4 and higher) defined by the WorldServer Project Manager are automatically set.
- Go to the Files view, and double-click the file to open it for translation in the Editor view.
- Display only the segments with tracked changes that need translation, by going to the Review tab, and selecting Display Filter.
- From the Display drop-down list, select .
- To make sure any changes you make to target segments are closely tracked, go to the Review tab and select Track Changes or press Ctrl+Alt+F9. The button is highlighted to indicate that track changes is on.
- Translate segments with tracked changes, which have no matches from the TM and which have an empty target translation:
- Translate segments with tracked changes rejected which have a match from the TM lookup:
- Preview changes by hiding tracked changes. This allows you to double-check the spacing with the changes you have made with tracked changes.
- Go to the Editor view and, on the Review tab, in the Track Changes and TQA group, select Show Original.
- Make any corrections to the target translations. These changes are still tracked, however you will not see the tracked change in this mode.
- To turn see all the tracked changes again, select Show Markup.
