Step 6: Creating project packages

The Creating Packages page, of the Create Project Package wizard, enables you to view the created package and to choose whether to send it by email to the appropriate team members. Each package is listed on this page.

Procedure

  1. Once the package creation is complete the status next to the package name changes to Completed. If errors or warning occurred during package creation or if the package failed to create, select the package, and then select Show Results. The Results dialog is displayed.
  2. To automatically send the package by email, select the package you want to send, and then select Send Package by Email. Select Yes. A draft email addressed to the selected user is displayed with the selected package file attached. Select Send to send the email and return to the Create Project Package wizard.
  3. Alternatively, to send the package by a different method such as placing it on a FTP site, select Open Target Folder to open the folder where your packages are saved.
  4. Select Close.
  5. If you are working with a server project and have no further actions that you want to perform on the files you have just edited, switch to the Files view, right-click the files, and then select Check in.
After a package is created, the manual task assigned to that package is displayed in the Sent Tasks folder, on the navigation tree of the Files view.

What to do next

Use the Results dialog to show errors and warnings on the last page of a wizard when you create or open a package. To display this dialog, select Show Results on the last page of the Create Project Package wizard, Create Return Package wizard or Open Package wizard.
