  • You cannot publish Trados GroupShare server-based projects.

Professional

Trados Studio Professional is the complete package that includes all available features. If you are also working with Trados GroupShare, the server component of Trados Studio, this edition gives you project manager functionality designed for use in Trados GroupShare environments.

The Translation Quality Assessment feature (TQA) is available in the Professional and Workgroup edition by default.

Starter and Express

Trados Studio Starter and Trados Studio Express both have similar functionality to Freelance. What you can do in Starter and Express depends on which workflow you are using.

  • In Starter you can use a Single-file Translation Workflow.
  • In both Starter and Express you can use a Project Package Translation: Offline Workflow.

Starter and Express also differ in the following ways:

  • In Express, you can run Trados Studio as part of a domain-based corporate network and use of unlimited target languages.
  • In Express, you can only open documents from packages created in an RWS enterprise product. Enterprise products include WorldServer and TMS.

For more information on Starter and Express, see .

Workgroup

The Translation Quality Assessment feature (TQA) is available in the Workgroup edition by default.

  • You can open Trados GroupShare server-based projects.
  • You can translate or review documents from Trados GroupShare projects.

Other standard Trados Studio functionality is available with the following limitations:

  • You cannot perform TM maintenance in Translation Memories view in Trados Studio.

Regulated Industries

If you are translating for a regulated industry, you can purchase an add-on to create regulator review bundles. The add-on is then included in the Professional license activation code.

Bundles contain a specific collection of documents needed by the regulator for review.
