You can connect to a Machine Translation (MT) provider to use during pre-translation or translation. As a general rule, you select your MT resources at the All Language Pairs level, which means that the selected MT resources apply to all the language pairs they contain. However, you can also specify MT resources at an individual language pair level, as an exception. Use individual language pairs only if you want to have different MT selections or a different MT order.
Procedure
- Decide whether you want to add the MT provider:
- For all future projects - Go to .
- For the current project - Go to the Projects view, select a project. On the Home tab, select Project Settings, and then in the Project Settings dialog, select .
The Language Pairs settings are displayed on the right. Any language pairs for which default translation memory selections have been added, are displayed in the Language Pairs box.
- If the language pair for which you want to add the MT provider does not exist, select Add, and then in the Add Language Pair dialog, select the source and target language of your choice.
- In the navigation tree, expand the language pair you just added (click the plus sign preceding the language pair).
- Select Translation Memory and Automated Translation from the navigation tree.
- Select Use different translation providers for this language pair for this language pair.
- A prompt is displayed asking if you want to make a copy of the translation memories and automated translation servers from All Language Pairs.
- If you want to use the same MT providers as specified in All Language Pairs, but in a different order, select Yes to copy the translation memories and automated translation servers. Go to step 8.
- If you want to use MT providers which are different from the ones specified in All Language Pairs, select No. Go to step 7.
- Select Use and select Language Cloud to connect to the Neural Machine Translation (NMT) engines that you subscribed to from your cloud account or to translation engines configured for your account. Translation engines combine NMT engines, cloud TMs and cloud termbases.
- Use the Up and Down arrows to change the order of the automated translation servers and translation memories.
- Select Save.
CAUTION:
Using an MT provider may violate your non-disclosure agreement with your translation customer. Check with your customer before connecting to an MT provider. The
