Using termbases

The MultiTerm termbases that you add to the Termbases list are used in your project based on their order.

Procedure

  1. Do one of the following:
    • For existing projects, go to the Projects view, select Project Settings, and then on the Project Settings page, go to Language Pairs > All Language Pairs > Termbases.
    • For all future projects, go to File > Options > Language Pairs > All Language Pairs > Termbases .
Any termbases that are currently in use are listed here.
  2. Decide what type of termbase you want to use:
    • To use a locally stored termbase, select Use > File-based MultiTerm Termbase.
    • To use a termbase from a server, select Use > Server-based MultiTerm Termbase.
  3. To select a termbase and add it to the project, do one of the following:
    • For a locally stored termbase, in the Open File-based Termbase dialog, browse for a local termbase, then select Open.
    • For a remote termbase stored on a server, in the Select Termbases dialog, select Login to connect to the MultiTerm Server. The list of termbases on the server is displayed. Select the checkbox next to the termbase name that you want add to the project and then select OK.
  4. Continue selecting termbases until the list is complete. Any termbases you have added appear in the Termbases box and the Enabled option is selected for the termbase. When this option is selected, the termbase is automatically searched during translation when a segment becomes the active segment.
  5. Make sure the appropriate language for each termbase is set in the Languages pane for each project language. Each language must be mapped to a language in the termbase.
  6. Select OK to save your changes and close this dialog.
