XML settings
XML files contain a lot of formatting, navigation and tagging information which you do not need to edit when translating them in Trados Studio. However, some of these general configurations might exclude important information or, on the contrary, include information that you do not want to translate.
Trados Studio is configured to understand what content should generally be left out and what content should be presented to you for translation in the Editor. To make sure that Trados Studio extracts and allows you to edit only the information that should be translated from an XML file, customize the general XML settings that Trados Studio considers when sorting translatable from non-translatable content.
- TheXML Detection page detects the documents to which Trados Studio should apply the XML file type settings.
- The XML Parser page checks each XML element in the file against your specified conditions to determine what content should be extracted for translation.
- The XML Writer page specifies how Trados Studio saves the target XML file.
- The XML Entities page deals with how to display character entities found inside XML elements.
- The XML Namespaces page deals with namespace declarations.
- The XML Whitespace page handles the extra whitespace characters found inside the XML elements.
- The XML Preview page handles adding style sheets for previewing XML files.
- The XML Validation page specifies the settings which ensure that the structure and content of the XML file matches the specifications given by the DTD or schema.
- The XML Embedded Content page helps you choose how to handle embedded content in XML files.
- The XML QuickInsert page handles adding or editing QuickInsert items for the XML file type.
