Word count settings
Control how the word count engine reports words separated by hyphens, dashes or formatting tags by clearing or selecting the following check boxes under Count as one if words:
| Check box | Description |
|---|---|
| Are hyphenated | Words that contain hyphens count as single words. For example, with this option enabled, "two-wheeled vehicles" counts as two words; with it disabled, it counts as three words. |
| Are joined by dashes | Words that contain dashes count as single words. For example, with this option enabled, "two-wheeled vehicles" counts as two words; with it disabled, it counts as three words. |
| Contain formatting tags | The word count engine will not break words that contain formatting tags. For example, with this option enabled, "<b>two-wheeled vehicles</b>" counts as a unit to be processed together; with it disabled, it counts as three words. |
| Contain apostrophes | Words that are separated by apostrophes count as a single word. For example, with this option enabled, "boy's" counts as one word; with it disabled, it counts as two words. |
