Defaults and their location

You can store various user groups and resource types in your current folder (location) or its children.

Resources and user groups at Root-level folder

You cannot create, edit or store resources and user groups at account level or Root level. However, you inherit all the resources created here by your administrator.

The following default user groups are automatically provisioned by the system at Root level:
  • Administrators
  • Project Managers

Resources and user groups at customer-level folders

You can create and store resources and user groups at customer level, which means that these resources will be shared across all the descending folders and subfolders. As lead project manager, your group could be located at the Customers-folder level or at a customer-specific level.

In most cases, you store your resources per specific customer to use these resources for specific customers only. When you add a customer, a folder (or a location) is automatically created for this customer (below the Customers folder) as well as the following:
  • Default resources: File Type Configurations, Language Processing Rules, Field Templates
  • Default user groups: Customer Requesters
There are 2 types of customer requester roles: Customer Requester (who can see their peers' projects in Trados Customer Portal) and Customer Requester Restricted (who cannot see their peers' projects in Trados Customer Portal). The Customer Requester group is provisioned automatically by the system when you add a new customer, while the Customer Requester Restricted group is not. To add customer users to a Customer Requester Restricted group, you must create it manually for your chosen customer.

You can add as many customer folders as needed, which means that you will have as many customer folders (locations) as created customers. You can create subfolders for each created folder. Store your resources in the customer folder or subfolder of your choice.
