Editing settings for custom file type configurations

You can edit settings for all custom file types. The changes you make to an existing custom file type configuration affect only the future project templates and projects it will be included in. Started projects are not affected by any of the changes you make to the file type configuration.

Procedure

  1. Log in to Trados Team (by accessing this link: http://languagecloud.sdl.com/lc).
  2. Go to the Resources view.
  3. Select the File Type Configurations tab, and then select the check box corresponding to the file type configuration whose settings you want to edit.
  4. Select Edit.
  5. Select Add New File Type and, from the Create from template list, select one of the available types: Simple Delimited Text, Regular Expression Delimited Text, XML (Legacy Embedded Content), XML (Embedded Content), XML 2, HTML. Note that XML (Legacy Embedded Content), XML (Embedded Content) will be deprecated in 2022, so RWS recommends that you start creating custom file type configurations based on XML 2. Any project created before April 2022 which includes XML v1 file type configurations is not impacted by this change.
  6. Select Add, give your file type a name and save it.
  7. Identify the file type in the list and select it to edit its settings:
