Exporting file type configurations from Trados Studio

You can export the settings of a customized file type to a file. The exported file has the following extension: *.sdlftsettings.

About this task

You can only export customized settings, so modify the settings for the file type. For example, select XLIFF from the navigation tree and make a change in any of the settings pages.

Procedure

  1. Open Trados Studio.
  2. Choose the project whose file type settings you want to export:
    • To export the settings of an active project, go to the Projects view, select the project, and then, on the Home tab, select Project Settings.
    • To export the settings of future projects, go to File > Options.
  3. Select the File Types node.
  4. In the pane that includes the list of file types, select the name of the file type that you want to save, for example XLIFF.
  5. Select Export Settings.
  6. Specify where you want to save the file, enter an appropriate name (for example, myxliff_settings), and then save the file.
