File types
File types determine which types of files can be processed as translatable files and control how translatable text is extracted. Examples of file types include Microsoft Word files or XML files.
Consult the list of supported file types.
To be able to work with different file types at once, you can use or edit the default file type configuration provided by Trados Team. Alternatively, you can create file type configurations in Trados Studio and import them into Trados Team.
You choose a file type configuration when you create a project or project template. When you upload the source files to your translation project, the files can be processed only if their extension is included in the file type configuration. If you upload a source file, but its extension is not included in the file type configuration, that file (non-supported file type) will not be translated.
