Limitations for Trados Studio projects migrated to cloud

Consult the list of limitations when migrating Trados Studio projects to cloud.

Translate Single Document wizard
Local projects created with the Translate Single Document wizard cannot be migrated to cloud.
Physically merged files
Physically merged files cannot be migrated to cloud if they are part of a local project.
File type settings

The Save to Cloud wizard does not support the selection of a file type configuration. The file type settings of the Trados Studio are exported to Trados Team.

After the local project is migrated to cloud, the file types which were enabled in Trados Studio for that project can be checked in Trados Team under project > Settings > File Type Configuration:
  • If there is no file type available in Trados Team to scan a project file coming from Trados Studio, the local project files are treated as regular *.sdlxliff files (and *.sdlxliff file type settings are applied).
  • If the Trados Studio settings do not match the Trados Team ones, the Trados Team defaults take precedence.
Mismatched settings
If the local project has project settings which are different from the default cloud project settings, after the local project is saved to cloud, the cloud default project settings take precedence.
Migrated projects and project updates
After a local project is migrated to Trados Team, users can perform the following operations only from the cloud:
  • Edit all project settings (pre-processing settings, enable editing of source segments, TM update settings, penalties, filters, file type settings)
  • Add source files or reference files
  • Add new TMs or termbases
  • Add custom fields
  • Change due dates and assignees
