Migrating Trados Studio TMs to cloud

You can migrate Trados Studio TMs to cloud at any time.

Before you begin

  • Make sure you configure the following resources in Trados Team: field templates and language processing rules.
  • Make sure the local import files (TMs) are not larger than 1 GB each.

Procedure

  1. Open Trados Studio and log in with your cloud account.
  2. Go to the Translation Memories view and select the local TM you want to convert to cloud.
  3. Go to the Home tab, and from the Cloud Resources group, select Migrate Local TMs to Cloud.
  4. In the File-based Translation Memories tab:
    1. Add one or several TMs using the available options: Add File-based TMs and Add File-based TMs from Folder.
    2. Decide how you want to create your cloud TM:
      • Create a single could translation memory containing all file-based translation memories - This option merges all the selected local TMs into one cloud TM.
      • Create cloud translation memory for each language pair - This option creates as many cloud TMs as language pairs.
      • Create cloud translation memory for each file-based translation memory - This option migrates each local TM into a cloud TM.
  5. Select Next.
  6. In the Cloud Translation Memories tab, in the grid:
    1. Place the cursor in the Translation Memory column and enter a name for your future cloud TM.
    2. Select a cloud location (folder) where your TM will be stored.
    3. Select a cloud field template.
    4. Select a cloud language processing rule.
    5. Select cogwheel symbol, and in the Import settings dialog, add a description and a copyright, and then choose what happens if target segments differ. Select Save.
  7. Select Finish.
  8. Check the right-hand side Notifications panel until you receive a confirmation that your cloud TM has been successfully created. Select the View TMs in the cloud link and log in to Trados Team to check your cloud TM.
